Ring Toss

Ten rings a bucket. How many prizes go home with you?

A night-market ring toss stall: a green ring hooked on the ear of the giant plush bunny up on the grand prize stand, a conveyor belt in front of it carrying cotton candy and a rocket, a pink ring dropping onto the rocket, a blue ring dropping onto the lucky cat's head, and a sign that reads "輪投げ" (ring toss in Japanese)
  1. Hold a ring
    and flick up
  2. Flick faster
    fly farther
  3. Ring a prize
    to score

Press and hold the ring at the bottom of the screen, flick upward and let go to throw it.
On desktop, use your mouse: click and hold, drag up, then let go.

How to play

You get 10 rings per bucket. Hold the ring at the bottom of the screen, flick up and let go, and off it flies. The faster you flick, the farther it goes. Flick at an angle and it heads left or right. Swipe sideways just before you let go and the ring spins, curving that way in midair.

A prize only counts if the ring goes around it and lands on the mat. A ring leaning on the prize still counts, as long as the prize pokes through the middle. A ring sitting on top of a prize or caught on its edge doesn't. The call is made once the ring and the prize both stop moving, and the game slows down a little when a ring is about to drop over a prize.

A bad throw knocks prizes over. A prize that's down can't be won anymore, but you don't lose any points. If a throw knocks one of your earlier rings around a prize, that counts too.

The farther back, the more it's worth: front row 1 pt, second row 2 pts, third row 3 pts.

The back row is a conveyor belt, carrying prizes from left to right without stopping, each worth 4 to 5 pts. The ring takes a moment to get there, so aim a little ahead of the prize. Prizes that disappear behind the curtain on the right come back out on the left, and if you knock one over, the vendor will stand it back up for you.

The giant bunny plush up on the grand prize stand behind the belt is worth 20 pts. It's way too chubby for a ring to fit over, so the only way to win it is to hook an ear: as long as one ear pokes through the ring and the ring stays put, it counts. A ring that slides down to the base of the ears and rests on its head counts too.

Once all ten rings are thrown, your total score earns you a rank. There's no time limit, so take your time aiming.
