How to play
Your finger moves the scoop, your phone sets its height and angle. Drag anywhere on the screen and the scoop follows. No need to cover it with your finger. Hold the phone flat (screen up) and the scoop stays at its height; tilt it down and the scoop sinks, tilt it up and it rises. The more you tilt, the faster it moves. The gauge on the right shows the scoop's height and angle, and how deep the nearby fish are.
Dip in where there are no fish. Dip right onto a fish and it bumps the paper and weakens it, and a fast dip tears a hole (the ring under the scoop turns red when a fish is below). Slapping the water flat also hurts the paper, so dip in at a slight sideways angle.
Move slowly underwater until you're under a fish, then lift. Move too fast and the fish swim off. Lift too slowly and they slip away; too fast and the paper tears. When a fish lights up on the gauge, it's over the paper and ready to catch. The paper softens the longer it soaks.
Fish only count once you pour them into the bowl. Bring the scoop next to the bowl on the wooden bench in front, then tip your phone sideways so the fish slide off. A green landing spot means the bowl. Fish that fall back into the tub can be caught again, but fish that land outside are lost. Hold them too long and they jump out on their own.
Heavy fish strain the paper. If it can't hold as it leaves the water, a hole tears under the heaviest fish and it drops back in. Fish resting on the frame are easier on the paper. Fish over a hole can't be caught, and the paper under the gauge shows where the holes are and how much strength is left.
You get one scoop per round and no time limit. The round ends when the paper falls apart. Red 1 pt, Calico 2 pts, Black Moor 3 pts, Ryukin 5 pts, and each extra fish in the same pour adds 1 pt.
You can play on a computer too: move the mouse (or press the arrow keys) to move the scoop, hold the left button (or Space) to sink it and let go to lift, and press Q or E to tip it. If your phone can't read tilt, drag the gauge on the right up and down for height and sideways for angle.
